>>WHO WE ARE: Southern Indiana Business Source is directly mailed to several thousand chamber of commerce members and circulated via rack locations with free copies available for pickup by the public. The glossy 48-page magazine will be published quarterly this year. It is produced by the award-winning editorial staffs of The (Jeffersonville) Evening News and The (New Albany) Tribune, which are owned by Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. Co-publishers of Southern Indiana Business Source are Jim Grahn of The Evening News and Steve Kozarovich of The Tribune.

>> THE BEGINNINGS: The idea for this magazine started at a Leadership Southern Indiana class during 2008. During informal conversation the idea was hatched to serve and promote the businesses of Southern Indiana that had great stories to tell. Community media didn’t have the resources and the major metro media didn’t seem to want to venture outside the Lee Hamilton highway. With research help from Hanover college students, the magazine was on its way.

>> OUR MISSION: We want to separate ourselves from the competition by using our journalistic story-telling experience so we can captivate with business news, trends and feature stories about companies in Southern Indiana. Those stories in this issue have taken us from Madison to Corydon to Seymour. Beyond that basic sharing of information and business-to-business advertising of services, we intend to provide a resource and tool for Southern Indiana entrepreneurs. We can learn skills from each other and share advice, helping us improve and prosper as a business community.
